Wind powered ginger
Opening of South Gyle wind farm
The wind farm which will help power our sites was officially opened today.
A total of 22GWh per year from the South Kyle site will go to BSD facilities - including factories.
We signed a contract in 2020 with developer Vattenfall for 100% renewable electricity at our plants.
The wind farm - which straddles East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway - was approved six years ago.
Scott McGlashan and Laura Scouler were on site in the glorious sunshine for the opening together with Vattenfall CEO and president Anna Borg.
