IRN-BRU OFFICIAL SOFT DRINK OF THE GLASGOW 2014 COMMONWEALTH GAMES
In order to mark its designation as The Official Soft Drink of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, IRN-BRU created three limited edition can designs which focused on the sporting heritage of the brand from 1901 till the present day. The packs featured the Glasgow 2014 logo and were intended to increase the feel-good factor as Scotland continued its preparations for the Games. The first can was rolled out in March 2013 and featured highland athlete Adam Brown, who featured on the first IRON BREW labelS in 1901. The second can featured The Cambridge Rower, who appeared on IRON BREW’s packaging from 1922, replacing the Highland athlete Adam Brown. He remained on pack until 1988. The third can, released in June 2014, brought the celebration of IRN-BRU’s sporting heritage right up to date with the combination of the Glasgow 2014 logo and IRN-BRU’s iconic ‘molten man’. All special pack designs received a great response from both customers and consumers alike.
