Liquids Mean Life: Enterprise Challenge pack.

The British Soft Drinks Association has published the Liquids Mean Life: Enterprise Challenge pack - delivering Enterprise Education for Key Stages 3 and 4. This new and interactive free resource delivers a day of Enterprise Education activities and enables students to work together to devise a new soft drink. During the day, students will learn about the production and packaging of the product, decide on its cost and then devise a marketing campaign to sell the finished product. Pupils will also have the opportunity to explore and discuss issues such as: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); sustainability; the environment; health and wellbeing; choice and convenience, and health and safety. This activity can be for classes or whole year groups and whilst designed as a collapsed timetable day, the resource pack can also be used to form a scheme of work over a series of lessons. Throughout the tasks set, students will learn about the processes involved in producing a soft drink, appreciate the need for teamwork and compromise, and discover some of the careers available in the food and drinks sector. To undertake the activities, students will be given roles that exist within the soft drinks industry such as sales and marketing, suppliers of raw materials, production, buyers and technologists.
