Portfolio Expansion
During this period BARR has undergone a bigger change in the way that it does business than at any time in its history. While the company continues to invest heavily in its own brands IRN-BRU, Tizer, D'N'B, and St Clements it has also undertaken a rapid product range development programme. This is being achieved by a combination of in-house new product development, franchise agreements (e.g. Orangina, Rubicon and Rockstar) and brand acquisitions (e.g. Strathmore Spring water, Vitsmart, Rubicon and TAUT). The company has also consolidated its non-water Scottish operations on this one site at Cumbernauld. Further afield the company through its own franchise agreements has introduced IRN-BRU into a number of international soft drinks markets including Russia, Spain and Australia.
