Working In Partnership with Schools

Barrs has worked in partnership with schools for many years supplying a range of products which have helped pupils to stay refreshed and hydrated throughout the day.

We believe that we can continue to provide a range of healthy and refreshing drinks which school children will enjoy whilst meeting the Government's objective of improving diets.

We have responded positively at each stage of the food and drink regulations for schools in England, Wales and Scotland by developing new products which meet the standards set for permitted soft drinks in schools.

Indeed the first set of regulations for schools in England were timed to be implemented in September 2006 for soft drinks consumed as part of school lunches and in September 2007 for other soft drink occasions in the school day when soft drinks are sold e.g. from vending machines. In response to this we developed a new range of great tasting St Clements juice drinks which met the ingredient criteria set for schools.

Since then we have developed new ranges of great tasting juices, juice drinks and fruit smoothies, in cartons and PET as well as supplying small bottles of PET Strathmore Spring water for schools.
