We take our Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously and see it as a key part of the future success and sustainability of our business. Corporate responsibility at Barr is neither a new thing nor a separate programme of activity – it is part of what we believe makes good business sense.

Our corporate responsibility activity brings together the different strands of our actions across:

• Workplace
• Community
• Quality

The recycling and reuse of packaging at Barr's goes back to 1875 and remains to this day a key part of our sustainability plans which include strategies on waste, packaging, water usage and energy efficiency across our total operations. We also aim to make a positive contribution within local communities by using our skills, experience and financial resources to support many local good causes, fundraising activities and charity organisations.

We have appointed Andrew Memmott, our Operations Director, as board sponsor for sustainability and to co-ordinate our corporate responsibility activities.
