Barr Schools Range - Scotland
We have responded positively at each stage of the new food and drink regulations for schools in England & Wales and Scotland by developing new products to add to our existing range which meet the standards set by the Schools Food Trust for permitted soft drinks in schools.
Background
A Voluntary Code of Practice for drinks provided in schools was introduced in September 2007.
Drinks provided in schools:

Should be additive free

Contain no Flavourings, Colourings, Sweeteners, Fruit extracts and Preservatives (other than those permitted under existing EU regulation
Permitted drinks should fall into 2 main categories:
Simple Drinks

Water, Fruit / Vegetable Juice, Milk, Soya Milk
Combination Drinks
- Combinations of fruit / vegetable juice and water
- Combinations of milk, soya rice, or oat drink or fermented milk
drink & cocoa
Scotland is also introducing the following additional guidelines from
August 2009:
Fruit juice and vegetable juice must:
- Be made available only in individual portions less than 200ml.
Drinks comprising combinations of fruit juice or vegetable juice with water must:
- Be made available only in individual portions less than 400ml
- Contain a minimum of 50% juice
- Contain a total sugars content no more than 20 grams per portion
These form part of the Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act

Available in 250ml still PET screw cap and sports cap, 500ml still screw cap and sports cap and 500ml sparkling PET screw cap.
Simply Pure
Available in 200ml cartons, Simply Pure contains 100% juice and no additives. It comes in 2 flavours - Apple and Orange.
